Are you ready to publish your book?

So today there's no video. I've had a very busy week and the thought of creating a video well it makes me want to crawl right into bed. Apparently writing a few words about my thoughts this week is not so bad. Tonight I will share a contribution by immigrants, like I promised I would. Then talk a little bit about this flu thing...UGH! Last but not least some dibits about how to pursue publishing your book!

In terms of a contribution by immigrants, well I will start with the obvious. The most dramatic impact of the Hispanic/ Latino population on the demography of the nation has taken place over the last few decades. The number of Hispanic/ Latinos in the United States more than doubled between 1980 and 2000, accounting for 40 percent of the growth in the country's population during that period. And in 2003 the U.S. Census Bureau designated Hispanics/Latinos as the nation's largest minority group, an amazing event given that in 1980 the Hispanic/ Latino population was only slightly more than half the size of the African American population. To bring it closer to home, here in Georgia between the years of 1990-2000, our state became the third largest state for migranting Hispanics. Plus by 2040, the number of Hispanics/ Latinos in metro Atlanta will reach 1.75 million. So again, if you haven't thought of learning some Spanish you might want to. The Latin American Association offers classes, if you're interested.

Every year, I hear more than a handful of people tell me about how they will or have had the flu vaccination. Personally, I have never ever thought of getting it nor have I ever encouraged my sons to. I don't like the thought of putting more "stuff" in my body than I need to. I might if it was in pasta or something...ha ha ha!!! (kinda true). Seriously though, nearly 20 schools in Fulton and Gwinnett counties had at least one day last week when more than 10 percent of its students were absent. The statewide daily student absentee rate is about five percent. This week we learned that 51 people in Georgia had passed away from the flu! What is my advice to everyone from school- to friends- to home? WASH your hands, constantly. My hands are actually dry from all of the washing I have done these past two weeks. Be careful out there my friends, wash your hands and keep your hands away from your face.

Now to some tidbits about publishing your book. I am assuming you've done some research or at least watched and read the last few blogs about the differences in publishing options. If you're interested in a hybrid publishing company, then I would LOVE to talk to you and see if we can collaborate. 1010 Publishing LLC. is my hybrid publishing company. I can help you get started from start to finish. You can sit back and enjoy the ride. You will have a knowledgeable pilot help you navigate and in most tasks take control of the stearing wheel. I have been reading several manuscripts and will be making a final decision by choosing two by June 1, 2018.
